Let’s be real: Getting to the gym is often the hardest part.
You plan to go, you even pack your bag… but when the time comes, you’re tired, distracted, or just not feeling it. Sound familiar?
Here are a few ways to make getting to the gym feel less like a battle and more like a habit:
Lower the barrier
Stop waiting to feel 100% motivated. Motivation is a very 'unreliable' friend. Aim for “just show up.” Even if it’s a 20-minute session, just getting in the door builds momentum.
Plan your sessions in advance
If you’re winging it, you’ll waste time and talk yourself out of going. Have a clear plan, like a training program. Know what you’re training and how long it’ll take. No guesswork = less resistance.
Schedule the Gym in your Calendar
Make it non-negotiable. Whether it’s mornings before work or evenings after dinner, treat it like an appointment. You don’t skip work meetings - you shouldn’t skip these either.
Train with someone (or use a coach who checks in with you)
You’re less likely to cancel when someone’s expecting you. Accountability works. So does knowing someone actually cares if you show up or not.
Stop overthinking
You don’t need a perfect session. Just a consistent one. Progress doesn’t come from intensity - it comes from frequency.
If you’re tired of trying to figure it all out alone, I can help you build a plan around your lifestyle that actually works.
